I’m Amy Louise Davis, a textile artist and embroiderer fascinated by sculpture and pattern. Influenced by environmental and social issues, I created ‘alou’ in 2013 to tackle throw-away culture. With a particular interest in repurposing i.e. seeking potential in overlooked or pre-loved materials, I use my skills in sculpting and embroidery to conceptualise and design artefacts which can be used to create awareness of the throw-away problem.
